Movie Review: The Wolfman (2010)
Staring Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins. Is this remake of the classic monster movie a hit or a miss? Read on to find out.The story takes place in the 19th century with Lawrence Talbot (Del Toro) returning to his old home after hearing the news that his brother has been found dead. There he meets up with his brother’s fiancé (Blunt) and his father played by Anthony Hopkins. They aren’t really sure what killed his brother, but they are sure that it was some kind of animal. While Lawrence is investigating what really happened to his brother he is wounded by a wolf-like creature. He then turns into the wolfman creature that we are all so familiar with. Every full moon he transforms into this rampaging, hungry wolf-like creature and brings terror to the small town. Hugo Weaving (from the Matrix and Lord of the Rings) plays inspector Abberline who is on a hunt to stop Lawrence in his tracks. The story of this film is very classic monster movie material and isn’t the best in the world, but at the same time it isn’t bad either. There are some clever plot twists that you won’t see coming, but for the most part the story feels clunky.

If you'd like to celebrate Mardi Gras with a New Orleans cocktail or two but don't want to get stuck in a crowd of 20-somethings clamoring for beads, head for Acadiana . The restaurant honors the flavors of the Bayou year-round, but for Mardi Gras there's a special "street food" menu (frog legs, Cajun popcorn shrimp, cracklin) and a list of $5 cocktails including the Category Five, Acadiana's take on the traditional hurricane, and the Pontchartrain Punch. Draft beers are $4 each.

A murderous zombie goes berserk in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, and an overweight ninja and Galileo (yes, that Galileo, who has been released from purgatory) are charged with chasing him down. That's the plot of the

Claimed the number one position with an estimated $52 million over the weekend (or$60 million over the four day Presidents Day weekend). With a slew of top names like Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba and Anne Hathaway it would appear that this rom-com is going to be pretty profitable (most of the cast took a back end deal).

Percy Jackson “revamp” for New Line. The film will focus on Rusty Griswold (the son of Chevy Chase’s Clark) as he takes his family to Wally World (the setting of the original film) before it shuts down.

The studio has now hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to pen the script for the film which may (or may not) bring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo back in the roles that they played from 1983-1997. The duo recently returned to the roles in a recent advert that played at the Super Bowl.
New Line hoped that the film will be similar in tone to Planes, Trains and Automobiles director Michael J. Bassett – that interview will be live in a few days si be sure to come back and check it out. During the course of the interview he said that he was working on a new “genre” film and that the cast would be announced shortly. While he couldn’t give me details at...
